First, you need to create an account on the drone platform:

  1. Visit the login page: https://uas.gaca.gov.sa/uas
  2. Select your category (Individual or Company)
  3. Click Login/Register
  4. You will be redirected to Nafath - enter your National ID
  5. You will be redirected to a registration form - complete it with your information
  6. Follow the on-screen steps (details can be found in the guide on the initial login page)
  7. Once submitted, wait for your profile registration to be approved by GACA
  8. After approval, you will be notified via email/SMS. Return to https://uas.gaca.gov.sa/uas and log in.
  9. On the homepage, click "New Unmanned Aircraft"
  10. Choose your drone's operation category: Open (for drones up to 24.99 kg) or Specific (for drones up to 150 kg)
  11. You will be redirected to the request form. Create your request by following the steps.
  12. Once submitted, your request will be received by GACA. You will be notified of any status updates. If the status is "Waiting for Payment," proceed to pay the required fees. (More details are available in the User Guide, accessible from the login page card.)

To obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate, follow a similar process to drone registration:

  1. After logging in, navigate to the Remote Pilot Certificate section from the top menu.
  2. Follow the steps to create a new certificate request.
  3. Complete and pass the required Online Knowledge Test.
  4. Upon successful completion, your Remote Pilot Certificate (Open Category) will be issued and available in your account.

To submit a Customs Clearance request:

  1. You must first have a registered and approved drone in your account.
  2. Ensure you are registered on the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) platform. (If not, register there first, then return to the drone system.)
  3. From your list of drones, click on the approved drone you wish to clear.
  4. Click on the Customs Clearance Request option.
  5. Follow the steps and submit all required customs documents.

Note: You cannot request customs clearance without an approved drone registration in the system.

Yes, your drone registration certificate is valid for one year from the date of approval.

To renew your drone registration:

  1. Log in to your drone platform account.
  2. Go to the "My Drones" section.
  3. Locate the drone that requires renewal.
  4. Click on the "Renew" option.
  5. Review the renewal requirements and applicable fees.
  6. Submit the renewal application before the expiration date.
  7. Wait for the renewal approval from GACA.

To change your drone's operational category (e.g., from Open to Specific):

  1. You must first submit a De-registration Request for your currently registered drone.
  2. Wait for GACA to approve the de-registration request.
  3. Once approved, the drone will be removed from your active list.
  4. Create a New Drone Registration Request.
  5. During the new registration process, select your desired operational category.
  6. Complete all specific requirements for the new category and pay any applicable fees.
  7. Submit the new registration request and wait for approval.
